Lots of women want their wardrobe to be unique, and to reflect an individual sense of style. They are annoyed by the lack of variety in chain stores, and irritated when they wind up owning the same dress or shirt that they have seen ten other women wearing. This experience can make you hate an outfit that you initially loved. Womens clothes should be a reflection of ourselves.
Having your own individual style just requires creativity and persistence. You have to come up with ways to alter current fashions so that they reflect you. It also helps to explore alternative options for shopping, rather than frequenting the same mall or chain stores where everyone else shops. Here are a few different things you can do to add some creativity and variety to your wardrobe.
Sewing and Embroidery
Having the ability to sew your own clothes gives you a huge advantage. You can create completely unique garments: shirts, dresses, skirts. Even if you sewing skills are somewhat limited, and you are not able to sew a whole outfit, minor sewing skills are also useful. You can adjust hemlines, or add patches and buttons onto clothes to make them more interesting. If you can embroider, you can add personalized designs to any item.
Creative Alterations
Even if you do not know how to sew, there are other ways you can alter your clothes. I had a long dress with beautiful Indian embroidery on it, but it was far too long for me to wear. I held on to it for a long time, trying to figure out a way to use it, and eventually I just took the scissors to it! I cut it to just above knee length, in a diagonal line on each side so that it came to a point in the center. Cutting it created a fringe, as well. It is now one of my favorite pieces of clothing, and completely different from anything I’ve seen for sale.
Shop in Creative Places
Many women limit themselves by only shopping in the same few stores. Stores that sell only new and current fashions can be extremely confining. What is in style one season may be perfect for you, but the next season, the colors may be all wrong and the styles may be completely unflattering. It is much more important to look good in your clothes than it is to wear what is in style. If your clothing is current but you look ridiculous, that is what people will notice.
Thrift stores are full of unique finds, in both the jewelry and clothing sections. People often bring in things that they have altered or made, you might end up with a completely one of a kind item. Thrift stores have the added benefit of carrying items from all different years and seasons, so you are quite likely to find things that flatter you.
Discount stores are another great place to look. In regular stores, the only things on sale are often the odd colors or sizes that the store is trying to get rid of. But in discount stores, you can find items in all sizes and colors for great prices. This is one way that you can afford to mix different items and create unique a unique combination.
Women’s Clothes are very trendy in the world today. If you are getting a new outfit for the party, then you may want to look into some matching jewelry to go along with the lovely dress. Accessories can always spice up an outfit.
